The Training Center is conducting a Training of Trainers course on May 28-29, 2018. After this training, 14 trainers will deliver the training course developed by the Training Center for representatives of political parties.

Giorgi Sharabidze, CEC deputy Chair opened the event and highlighted the importance of implementing awareness-raising and educational projects for electoral stakeholders for ensuring informed electoral environment. Nino Berulava, deputy Director of the Training Center, introduced to the participants the CEC and the Training Center initiative to train representatives of political parties as the Training Center contribution in the course of the implementation of the grant projects funded under the competition announced under the aegis of the CEC. In particular, the trainers of the Election Administration trained by the Training Center will conduct the training course comprised of the following modules: election cycle and management of electoral operations (model and authorities of election administration); polling day, grounds and technique for developing application/complaints.

This initiative is implemented in partnership with 15 NGOs funded as a result of the Grant Competition announced on February 8, 2018 and aims to promote the development of electoral capacity of political parties for the 2018 Presidential Elections.

For the facilitation of the development of competitive political environment, funded NGOs, under the grant projects, will offer training programs to representatives of political parties, including around such important topics as:

  • international standards of elections;
  • electoral system for local elections in Georgia;
  • electoral registration of stakeholders, their rights and obligations during the elections process and electoral ethics;
  • pre-election campaign/agitation and restrictions;
  • conflict management and international standards for resolving of electoral disputes;
  • communication, teamwork and accountability;
  • inclusive elections (involvement of vulnerable groups).

The schedules of trainings for representatives of political parties will be gradually posted to the website of the Training Center.
