44 local NGOs funded by the grant competition commission as part of the grant contest announced on July 13, 2020 by the Training Centre finished the implementation of projects and presented the summary presentations regarding the results of the projects.

Grant project proposals submitted by the 44 NGOs was aimed at implementation of relevant information-educational programs, information campaigns and/or other formats of programs in order to raise the electoral awareness of voters, increase their civic responsibility and activate voters for 2020 Parliamentary Elections of Georgia.

Within the projects, as a result of informational-educational activities, the electorate was informed about such important issues as: election related legislative amendments, the rule of holding elections during the Pandemic and safe voting procedures at election precincts, electoral rights and the procedures for exercising those (including the principle of the secrecy of vote), other important electoral matters that facilitate voters to make informed choice and stimulate increased activeness of voters (including young voters, women, ethnic minorities’ representatives, IDPs, and persons with disabilities) in the electoral process was discussed as well.

Financed projects were implemented in all regions of Georgia through the period of September 25 – October 25, 2020.
