“Electoral Development School” Begins Accepting Applicants

“Electoral Development School” begins accepting applicants. Young people aged 18-25 may undertake training on electoral topics and receive relevant knowledge. The training course will begin on 4th of July and end on 8th of July.

Education program “Electoral Development School” is being implemented together with CEC’s Training Centre and with support of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES). The mentioned program aims to support civic engagement and popularize elections among young people. The school operates since 2015, and about 3000 young people have undergone the course.

Study module of “Electoral Development School” consists of following key modules, namely, electoral systems, election administration, 1919 elections of constituent assembly, democratic electoral principles, elected bodies in Georgia, electoral stakeholders, transparency and accessibility of elections, gender equality, electronic devices of voting and vote-counting, disinformation and fake news dissemination during electoral period. As a novelty, participants additionally will go through preparatory training program for the examination of election administration officials that is based on election legislation, the Constitution of Georgia, substantive discussion of issues defined by the examination program and practical assignments.

“Electoral Development School” is being conducted in Tbilisi and seven municipalities (Telavi, Rustavi, Gori, Akhaltsikhe, Kutaisi, Zugdidi, and Batumi). 

Applicants shall register through special E-platform (Konkursi.cec.gov.ge) from June 10 to June 17 until 24:00 (including holidays and weekends); ID card or passport and photograph should be attached to filled in application form. Gender parity will be considered during selection procedure.
